FIT & STRONG Strength Training Program 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM Coomealla Memorial Sporting Club Auditorium, Matong Street, Dareton
If you are interested in feeling stronger, healthier and more vital, this program is for you. Strength training can help reduce the signs and symptoms of many chronic diseases. Exercise has been shown to increase the strength of your muscles, maintain the integrity of your bones, and improve your balance, coordination and mobility. This program is open to all community members with the initial target group being men and women aged 50 plus.
All participants are required to attend a pre-exercise health screening and appraisal. You may also be required to obtain clearance from your GP. Contact Dareton Primary Health to arrange an appointment for your assessment on 03 5021 7200.
SKIRTS: AQUA FITNESS PROGRAM @ Dareton Swimming Pool, Matong Street, Dareton 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM 'SKIRTS' is a water-based exercise program. It is a health promotion program that is targeting clients who have disengaged from physical activity. The name "Skirts" is derived from 'wearing a skirt over your shorts or swimmers' to cover up in public swimming places. Benefits include: increase in physical activity; supportive group setting; improve self-confidence.
Aqua Fitness classes are held weekly on Tuesday afternoons during summer months from November-March 2:30-3:30pm at Dareton Swimming Pool. Forecast temperature must be at least 30°C.
COST: Free. Participants are to pay their own entrance fee into Dareton Swimming Pool.
EQUIPMENT TO BRING: Foam Float, foam aqua dumbbells; water bottle; hat; towel; sunscreen
