CHILD & FAMILY HEALTH CLINIC (0-4 YEARS) DROP-IN CLINIC @ Dareton Primary Health, 44-46 Tapio Street, Dareton 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM The CHILD & FAMILY HEALTH Drop-In Clinic conducts developmental health checks at the following key stages:
* 1-4 weeks; * 6-8 weeks;
* 6 months; * 12 months; * 18 months;
* 2 years; * 3 years; * 4 years.
The specialised Child & Family Health Nurse is able to provide support and information on: feeding your infant; coping with sleeping and crying; your child's growth and development; immunisation; child safety; starting family foods; postnatal depression and distress; parent wellbeing; pregnancy; community networking and resources. Breastfeeding support.
Working in Partnership with Parents to Support Families in the Early Years.

FIT & STRONG Strength Training Program, Coomealla Memorial Sporting Club Auditorium, Matong Street, Dareton 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM Coomealla Memorial Sporting Club Auditorium, Matong Street, Dareton.
If you are interested in feeling stronger, healthier and more vital, this program is for you. Strength training can help reduce the signs and symptoms of many chronic diseases. Exercise has been shown to increase the strength of your muscles, maintain the integrity of your bones, and improve your balance, coordination and mobility.
This program is open to all community members with the initial target group being men and women aged 50 plus. All participants are required to attend a pre-exercise health screening and appraisal.
You may be required to obtain clearance from your GP. Contact Dareton Primary Health to arrange an appointment for your assessment on 03 5021 7200.
SKIRTS & SHIRTS Aqua Fitness Program, Dareton Swimming Pool, Matong Street, Dareton 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM SKIRTS & SHIRTS is a water-based exercise program. It is a health promotion program that is targeting clients who have disengaged from physical activity. The name "Skirts" was derived from 'wearing a skirt over your shorts or swimmers' and 'Shirts' is included as part of the SunSmart message to cover up in public swimming places. The program aims to increase the level of physiucal activity in a comfortable, supportive group setting and to improve levels of self-confidence and improved health outcomes.
The program is held at the Dareton Swimming Pool on Thursdays from 2:30-3:30pm between November and March providing the forecast is at least 30°C. COST: Free. Participants are to pay their own entrance fee into Dareton Swimming Pool.
EQUIPMENT TO BRING: Participants are to bring their own: foam float (eg aqua noodle), Foam Aqua Dumbells, water bottle, hat, towel and sunscreen
